About Respiratory Infection Diagnostics Research
Respiratory infections affect the respiratory system, including the nose, sinuses, throat, airways, and lungs. They can be caused by viruses, bacteria, and fungi, but tend to present similar symptoms, such as a cough, congestion or runny nose, and fatigue. Because the symptoms are so similar among different types of infection, the illness can be difficult to diagnose or identify.
Velocity is seeking participants for studies of investigational diagnostic tests intended to help detect the presence of deadly viruses, such as SARS-CoV-2 (the coronavirus that causes COVID-19), influenza, RSV, and more. These test studies aim to improve the diagnostic process of respiratory illnesses in order to slow the spread of these viruses.
