About Chickenpox Vaccine Research
Chickenpox, caused by varicella zoster virus (VZV), is a highly contagious viral infection that causes itchy skin rash and flu-like symptoms. Although it’s usually a mild illness, it can lead to complications, especially in older adults and those with weakened immune systems. The introduction of chickenpox vaccines has significantly reduced the prevalence of this disease. However, ongoing research in chickenpox vaccine development is essential. By studying the virus and vaccine effectiveness, scientists aim to improve vaccine formulations and provide better protection against chickenpox.
