About this research study

Hypercholesterolemia (high cholesterol) causes have blood levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, also known as “bad cholesterol.” Having too much LDL cholesterol in the blood can cause health problems such as heart disease, heart attack, and stroke. Diet and exercise may help in managing LDL levels but may not be enough to lower cholesterol to a healthy level.

Velocity is conducting a clinical research study for an investigational medication for high cholesterol.

Eligible participants...

Must be age 18 or older
Must have a history of a major atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease event defined as one or more of the following:
- acute coronary syndrome
- heart attack
- coronary revascularization
- cerebrovascular arterial revascularization
- ischemic stroke
- peripheral arterial disease with a history of acute limb ischemia, peripheral arterial revascularization, or major amputation
With no history of a major ASCVD event, must have intermediate to high risk for development of a first major ASCVD event
May receive compensation for study-related time
Do not need insurance to join this study
